East Coast House
East Coast, Singapore.
Open flowing layered interconnections; indoor/outdoor, heavy/light; a serene living space.
The update of this terraced house with an original condominium produced a relaxed living space, connected to the landscape, in a vibrant urban location. Existing materials were used where possible in addition to timber, stone, stainless steel and white mosaic tiles. Some reorganisation was made, enhancing the existing layout, increasing light and cross ventilation.
The environment of open grounds and sea breeze amalgamate with design. Living space becomes landscape, landscape becomes living space. A harmony is created, an experience of weightlessness.
