Cavenagh House
Orchard Road area, Singapore.
A reduction and reorganisation of hierarchical spaces; an experience of light and breeze; a calm and still retreat within the city.
This apartment overlooking Singapore’s urban centre was updated to produce the experience of a modern city dwelling. The client’s specific requirements were balanced with the need to enhance the use of light and cross ventilation. Subtle textures of concrete, sand renders, sand blasted crystallised glass, limed timber and indirect lighting combine to generate spaciousness.
Optimisation of the bones of the structure create interconnection and weightlessness; a stillness and calm contained within the congestion and noise of the metropolis.
